Dr. Michael Niese
Dr. Michael Niese is Managing Director of WVMetalle Service GmbH and is in charge of strategic business at MARS. As a doctor of economics with many years of experience in the non-ferrous (NF) metals industry, he sharpens the initiative's focus on industry-specific risks and opportunities in raw material procurement.
Franziska Weber has been managing the operational business of the initiative since July 2021. Her many years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering and battery production as well as in the implementation of sustainability management systems enriches the MARS portfolio and ensures practicability when it comes to implementation in companies in the metal industry.
Has been with the company since 2019, is the first point of contact for member companies and thus the most important agent for the operational business. Pia previously worked in the textile industry. She has in-depth practical experience in the field of corporate responsibility along the supply chain at home and abroad.
Has been involved in the development of the initiative since its foundation and drives internal and external strategic projects. He supports Pia Hackert in administrative and operational tasks. Marco is pursuing a Master's degree in "Socio-Ecological Economics" at the
University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna.
Sophie supports the Mars team as an intern until July 2021 and will be involved in all business areas. She is studying business administration in her fifth semester at HTWG Konstanz, where she discovered her interest in corporate responsibility.
The Sustainability Committee under the umbrella of the Metal Alliance for Responsible Sourcing (MARS) serves to communicate and exchange knowledge, experiences and developments on the topic of supply chain diligence. The multi-stakeholder approach is intended to create transparency, serve as a communication platform and actively accompany the activities of MARS.
